Bug Lifecycle

Below is the standard bug lifecycle followed:

1. New: Bug logged and under review
2. Assigned: Assigned to developer
3. In Progress: Developer working on fix
4. Fixed: Developer marks bug as fixed
5. Retest: QA validates the fix
6. Closed: Verified and no longer reproducible
7. Reopened: Bug still exists after fix
8. Rejected/Deferred: Bug not valid or postponed
